Its not as severe as on my super. From the start I had problems with a black screen of nothingness appearing just after the boot logo. I was left with just a humming pc. I had to reboot times before it would boot properly. So i ended up just installing Windows 7 and everything worked perfectly. I’ve tried every possible solution out there and it is driving me nuts – especially because I have to turn off my pc every time i try and solution and wait about 2 hours before the problem reoccurs.
If i wait 2 hours or so before turning the computer on again, the problem reoccurs ever time yeah what the hell is going on here. That may mean the machine is going into a lower “sleep state” some time in that period and getting it out of that sleep state is what your problem is.
Some people have had to disable certain power options to solve problems like this, e. Sorry but I’m not really familiar with the nitty gritty on this. FWIW I would start with powercfg. Do some web searches with clues you get that way too. In fact, this has just made me think about the Hibernate option. Do you have it enabled? You can use powercfg.
Then supposedly it is a deeper sleep than you would get from just a normal shut down. Maybe you can wake your machine from a Hibernation without the problem symptom. Can you boot in command only mode when you would expect to have the problem when booting normally?
In fact, if you can boot in command only mode then that might be another workaround–e. On another tack it may also be a good idea to look at the video device’s power options. I got an example of that with my powered hub. It got disabled somehow, then “not recognized” and as a result on boot I had no mouse or keyboard because the wireless receiver was in the powered hub.
Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking or Enable low-resolution video. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. In reply to A. User’s post on August 5, In reply to Robowave’s post on August 8, Same here. If I shut it down cold, then I get the repair boot, where I can try to get into safe mode.
Safe mode works, but without networking. Only one display adapter. Cant’t roll back driver. I’m having the same issue with Windows 10 Computer boots, see the blue windows logo on startup, I hear the login and startup but have a black screen with no cursor I have the same problem. I think the black screen with no curser, is related to the battery.
I can remove the battery while the laptop is showing black screen with no curser, then replace the battery. Push power and it boots! Ive had it boot ok several times, then need to repeat. Signed, irritated!!! Roz de-Layen Vian. In reply to TroyDanDurand’s post on September 20, I’ve tried the windows key p trick but can’t get that to work no matter how many times I try. Additionally, I cannot get into windows therefore I cannot boot it into safe mode.

Wait a bit for the page to open up. Here you can see a list of all the programs you have currently installed on your computer. From here you can check for the program you suspect might be causing the problem, then click on it and select uninstall to remove it. Then you should have your programs listed in the order of the date of installation, so from here you can locate the most recent installations. Afterwards you can restart your PC to boot back into normal mode, and hopefully your black screen error gets resolved.
