Hello I am new to Affinity, and I am wondering why the resolution of the tutorial videos is generally so poor? It makes me wonder is there a minimum size of screen that is needed to be able to use Affinity?

I would have thought that anyone who wanted to buy the apps would still do so, directly from Serif, if that was the only option available.

Affinity designer expand stroke ipad free

 

If I have my stroke to about 5 and expand, I don’t get the same result as I would for 0. Shouldn’t the handles and corners after the transformation be perfectly top, left, bottom, right? On the inside and the outside circle? If I draw two circles and subtract them from another, I do get it exactly this way?! We are already aware of these issues. We hope to improve the Expand Stroke command in a future version.

Hi MEB ,. I’ll be patient. One more issue regarding ‘expand stroke’: I wrote a text, converted to curves; then added a 1p. Then applied ‘expand stroke’.

Result: none Not a huge issue, but I spent some working time until I found the workaround. You can select all letter’s layers inside the group and apply the Expand Stroke command to all at once. No need to do it one by one. The reason nothing happened when you tried expanding the group is because it was a parent layer.

The child layers are the actual curves, and that is why those are the ones that ended up expanding. Point is: Why doesn’t ‘clicking on the group and applying expand stroke’ work? I think it is the more intuitive way. Although your solution is far more logical than mine, I admit. You can post now and register later.

Recommended Posts. Even more complex a way to expand text in Affinity Designer is by expanding the stroke of a shape. Of course, this only applies if your text is not necessarily text from a text box, but rather, a shape you create into the resemblance of a letter or block of text. Select the shape you want to expand and click the Move Tool or the Node Tool. Choose Expand Stroke from the Layer Menu. You can then move individual letters around and resize them by expanding the coordinate dots surrounding the text box.
